About Septic Hamilton

A local referral service that puts homeowners in touch with licensed septic contractors across Hamilton, Haldimand and the surrounding counties.

Septic Hamilton is a free referral service for homeowners with private septic systems. You tell us what you need, where the property is and how soon, and we pass the request to a licensed septic contractor who works in your area. The contractor contacts you, quotes the job and does the work.

Why it exists

Most of urban Hamilton is on municipal sewer, so it is easy to forget how many homes around it are not. Rural Flamborough, Glanbrook, Ancaster and upper Stoney Creek, almost all of Haldimand County, and large parts of Brant, Norfolk and West Lincoln rely on septic tanks, leaching beds, holding tanks and cisterns. When something goes wrong, the hard part is often finding someone who actually services your road.

This site does two things: it explains septic systems plainly, with real Ontario rules and real price ranges, and it gets your request to the right local contractor quickly.

What we are, and what we are not

  • We are a referral service. We do not own pump trucks, design systems or dig beds ourselves.
  • We are free for homeowners. Contractors pay us for the introductions; that never changes your price.
  • We only refer to contractors who hold the licences the job needs: hauled-sewage approvals for pumping, and Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing qualifications (a BCIN) for design and installation.
  • We are not a municipality or inspector. Permits and final inspections come from your local building department.

Where we work

The City of Hamilton (Ancaster, Dundas, Flamborough, Waterdown, Glanbrook, Binbrook, Mount Hope and Stoney Creek), Haldimand County, West Lincoln and Smithville, Grimsby and Lincoln, Brantford and Brant County and Norfolk County. See all service areas.
